About Dan shaw

Hi everyone,

I have been a presenter on Manchester Radio Online since it launched on the 9th September 2007. Prior to this I gained the passion for radio by accident when I showed a mate around my student union when I was a young lad and accidentally walked into the studios of Jam 1575, the student radio station for the University of Hull. I was really interested about the station and went along to one of their meetings where I met the program controller Phil McCann who gave me a show and later became a great friend.

Subsequently we became presenters on Vixen 87, a radio station for Market Weighton and the surrounding areas, where we furthered our broadcasting career.

Phil is now a fully qualified broadcast journalist for the BBC and after completing my master’s degree in Economics I returned to Manchester.

I didn’t broadcast for nearly one year and I heard that a volutionary idea of having a professionally run internet radio station was going to be launched. Subsequently I got in contact with MRO boss Dave Foran.

I sent my demo from my Vixen 87 days and two days later I was invited down to meet Dave for the first time.

I have not looked back since, what a great team of very talented individuals!

Manchester Radio Online is the future of radio and it’s such an honour to be a part of it.

Check out my show The Sunday Morning Breakfast show 10am - 1pm.
